Children from birth to age 18 many times must be removed from their homes when often their home proves to be an unsafe environment in which to live.  This removal occurs due to the behavior and/or lifestyle of the parent or guardian, which is beyond the control of the child.

Brave Heart works throughout the Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services to assist children that are put into foster care. Brave Heart began by helping one social worker and has grown to serve several thousand children throughout the state.

The children that are removed from their homes and enter the foster care system often have more obstacles and challenges to face in order to grow into healthy and productive adults. These children are a part of our community and as a community it is our responsibility to support them.

Since 2004 Brave Heart has offered services to the children in the foster care system.

A hundred years from now it will not matter that my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of child.
